Mercy West Lakes

Completed in Fall 2009, Mercy Medical Center - West Lakes is a seven-story, 230,000 square foot hospital offering medical and surgical care, intensive care, obstetrical and cardiac services, a 24-hour emergency department, and diagnostic and ancillary services.

The facility, which is a replacement of Mercy Capitol, is located on a 40-plus acre campus at 59th Place between two major West Des Moines boulevards: University Avenue and Westown Parkway. The project, which cost between $90-100 million to build, and initially opened with 82 beds, with room for expansion if needed.

Mercy West Lakes has modernized patient care by providing:

• adequate space for modern technology
• an environment that promotes healing, privacy and comfort for patients and their families
• a more efficient design for nurses and other staff
• an energy efficient, more environmentally friendly hospital

Waukee YMCA

This new 72,500 square foot facility opened in November 2009 much to the delight of the Waukee community.

Wolin had the pleasure of providing both the mechanical and electrical service on this project

Wolin has completed numerous projects for this medical facility over the years, and we continue to provide both mechanical and electrical service for this valued client.

Completed work includes: Surgery room remodels, ICU, NICU, CICU, Pediatrics, Dialysis, all Medical Gas work, CAT Scan, CT Scan, TRA, and others.

Many new and remodeled clinics, including Mercy Johnston,
Mercy Franklin, Mercy South and Mercy Laurel.

Our relationship with Mercy also extends to the Mercy West location where we have completed the following: MRI Center, Endoscopy Clinic, Pediatric Clinic, ENT Clinic, Orthopeadic Clinic, Internal Medicine, General Practice and Diagnostic Clinics.

Mercy Wellness Campus YMCA

West Des Moines, Iowa

The Mercy Wellness Campus is a 24-acre health and
medical complex with six buildings, each addressing
and providing a focus for well-being.

Wolin provided services for the campus, which is in the process of LEED certification.

Mercy East Tower Addition
Mercy Medical Center

Wolin completed the electrical package, as well as the plumbing and medical gas scope of work on the new addition to Mercy’s main location near downtown Des Moines. The
6-story tower wing includes renovations to the effected
portion of the existing hospital.

The new addition contains The Ruan Neuroscience
Center, two critical care units, the Mercy Education Center, and Comprehensive Mother-Baby Services.

We coordinated all of our work with Mercy Medical Center, Hammes Company, KA and other trades. This coordination and communication was the key component to a smooth and successful project.

CyberKnife
Mercy Medical Center

Wolin completed the electrical, plumbing,
and HVAC piping scope of work at Mercy
Medical Center for its state of the art
cancer treatment center: CyberKnife.

One of only 16 in the United States,
this $4.7 million radiation machine is able
to delegate higher concentrations of
radiation to the afflicted area with
pin-point accuracy, resulting in a
diminished treatment period and with less
damage to the surrounding healthy tissue.

Wolin completed this fast-track project
coordinating all work with Mercy Hospital,
the Construction Manager, and other trades.

Iowa Heart Center

Wolin has completed the Electrical Design/Build for this 2-story, 90,000 square foot state of the art office and medical facility in West Des Moines.

The complete package included site and interior lighting, security card access, voice & data, and sound system.
